John and I have been involved in metal detecting for more than twenty years; having had our fair share of good fortune and disappointments.

We could never have realised when we started out that our hobby would lead to our involvement with the Time Team or to sharing a military vessel with the Soviet Army as we sailed across the Baltic.

Ours truly is a fascinating pastime, and I try to reflect this in the stories about our exploits; all being based on real-life events to some degree, or are factual accounts.
